Common Zmodo Camera issues
- Trouble updating Zmodo camera firmware
- Receiving False Alerts
- Network Connectivity issues
- Zmodo Camera setup is not working
Zmodo Camera troubleshooting steps
If you are facing any of the said issues, you can always follow some easy steps to resolve them. Here are some instructions you can go through:
Updating Zmodo camera firmware
Your Zmodo device must have strong WiFi connections. Ensure that your phone is connected to the internet during the update. You may need to restart the update. The servers on the Zmodo end might be getting heavy traffic due to the volume of firmware updates we receive from customers. You can update at different times throughout the day.
You can temporarily use the MeShare app downloaded from Google Play and the App Store if it is still not updating. Log in with your Zmodo account details to access all your devices.
Removing Zmodo false alerts
There is more information and stimuli competing for our attention than ever before. This makes it more crucial that we can filter and focus on the important things. There are effective Zmodo camera troubleshooting tips to resolve the issue. You can reduce the number of alerts on your mobile phone to ensure that you only get notified about important events. This guide will show you how the algorithm works.
The app distinguishes between two types of events:
Major motion event
Major motion events are those that occur after a long period of time without motion (at most 25 minutes). You will be notified by your smartphone when a major motion event occurs. Your device will record a 10-second clip of the event and save it in the Zmodo app.
Minor motion event
Minor motion events are those in which motion is detected in a very short time after another motion event. This means that motion can be detected within 20 minutes of the previous motion event, or after at least three minutes without motion. If the motion is detected within 7 minutes of a major motion event, it will be considered a minor event. If the motion is not detected within three minutes of any major or minor motion event, it will not become a motion event. A minor motion event will not register on your smartphone. However, your device will record a 5-second clip and save the record in Zmodo for you to view at any time. These Zmodo camera troubleshooting tips will ensure that you have a complete record of all motion events and do not receive unnecessary notifications on your smartphone.
Zmodo camera connectivity issues
If you use the wrong network credentials, your zmodo camera setup will not connect to the WiFi network. To configure your zmodo camera system, you must use the correct case and sequence of the password as well as the SSID (the WiFi network’s SSID).
If you have an iOS device, you will need to manually connect to your camera’s network. To connect to your camera’s network, you can access the WiFi settings page on your smartphone.
